About concept B
The second of two design concepts Clearview built alongside our proposal for the Alliance’s website RFP, from the Alliance’s own published material.
What this is
A design concept, not the Alliance’s website. It isn’t official and it isn’t a finished design. We built two so the Alliance can compare two real directions and pick one, or a mix of both, rather than react to a single option.
Two concepts, one proposal
| Aspect | Concept A: “Heritage” | Concept B: “Boreal” |
|---|---|---|
| Taken from | The Alliance’s website banner: the maroon header, the Trail marker, the name in italic serif | The Alliance’s summer photography and the cover of its Southern Trek exploration map |
| Homepage | The five-part story as a scrolling sequence | The five-part story as a grid, a winter or summer choice, and the seventeen communities as one line from Seward to Nome |
| Look | Maroon and cream, serif headings, a dark header | Forest green and gold, Barlow (a free typeface), a light header |
| Same in both | Your Attachment 1 sitemap, your words and photographs, the interactive trail map, Arne Erickson’s diary restored, one basket for joining, giving and shopping, WCAG 2.2 AA | |
Neither is a platform decision, and the price is the same for A, for B or for a mix. Open concept A.
What it’s made of
- Your words and photographs, from iditarod100.org, captured 18 October 2026. Nothing is invented; where your current pages are empty, the concept says so.
- Arne Erickson’s diary, recovered from the public ArcGIS data behind the retired Story Map.
- A map drawn from public data: trail lines from your 2015 Story Map, community locations from the U.S. Census Bureau and USGS, coastline from Natural Earth.
- Barlow, a free typeface (SIL Open Font License), served from this address.
- No tracking, no cookies, no third-party requests. Nothing on any form is sent.
What it is not
It is not the design we would deliver. The real one starts with discovery: conversations with the Alliance’s staff and board, and with the partners and communities you introduce us to. It is also not a platform recommendation. It runs on Nanopage, a site platform Clearview is involved in building through our CTO, because that’s the fastest way to show something real. The production site is built on whichever platform the Alliance chooses in discovery.
We’ll take this concept down whenever the Alliance asks.
Our proposal in one line
US$22,000 fixed for discovery and platform recommendations, design, build, store, donation and membership integration, migration, WCAG 2.2 AA testing, training and launch support, with a care plan quoted separately. The price is the same whichever concept and platform the Alliance chooses.
